Job Description:
As a Family Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering families enrolled in our Head Start/Early Head Start programs. Your responsibilities will include:

Building trusting relationships with families and serving as their primary point of contact for program support and resources.
Conducting comprehensive assessments of family strengths, needs, and goals to develop individualized family partnership agreements.
Providing advocacy and assistance to families in accessing community resources and services related to health, education, housing, employment, and social services.
Collaborating with program staff to ensure the delivery of family-centered services that align with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.


Minimum Requirements (In-Line with Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.91):


  • Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field within eighteen months of hire.
  • Knowledge of child development, family systems, and community resources.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with families and staff.
