Contracts Manager

Job Location: McEwen, TN – United States

Position Overview

AES is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Business Development and Sales team.

The Contracts Manager is responsible for the overall life cycle of a contract, from the initial sourcing and acquisition strategy development, through the solicitation, negotiation, award, cost, schedule management, subcontractor execution, and closeout steps. Contracts at AES cover a variety of customer segments including U.S. Federal Government, Commercial, International Government, International Commercial, and Defense, of the official contracts file and its required documentation, management of supplier cost, schedule performance, and collaboration with engineering on the technical management of the contractor. Other duties include change management, risk management, management of customer/government-owned property, transportation and delivery, invoice processing /acceptance of articles/work performed, and payment. Contracts also support business development activities on new pursuits and proposals, by initiating the contract process from the beginning steps of negotiating non-disclosure and/or teaming agreements. Contracts support the government, customer, and internal audits as required.

This person will be responsible for:

  • Administration and monitoring of government contracts
  • Reviews both government and commercial contracts to ensure compliance to corporate and legal requirements
  • Works in conjunction with all AES functional areas during order intake and fulfillment process
  • Review of NDAs, teaming agreements and other contractual documentation
  • Assist in proposal preparation
  • Provide guidance on government compliance in all aspects of AES organization/processes
  • Company subject matter expert on ITAR/EAR requirements. Prepare, submit and track required export/import paperwork.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in government acquisition environment and strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS and other related regulatory policy
  • Subject Matter Expert with advanced knowledge of contract types (i.e., FFP, Cost Reimbursement, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, etc.), government proposals and Basis of Estimate (BOE).
  • Subject Matter Expert with advanced knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements, Prime Contract flow downs, International Trade Compliance, ITAR, EAR, Import/Export, General Provisions, Terms and Conditions, policies and procedures, and negotiations of legal documents
  • Experience developing pricing proposals
  • Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy required
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, be a US citizen and eligible to work in the US
  • Must pass drug screen and background check
