Summary:


The Senior Automation Engineer role is a hands-on leadership role with project execution responsibilities, that reports to the Vizint Management team. Apart from execution, the Senior Automation Engineer may be responsible for project team management, monitoring, reporting, and proper and timely execution of projects. This role is responsible for their project team, to ensure proper management through all execution phases within a given project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Develop, design, and configure systems that automate manufacturing processes.
Client facing support and communication tasks.
Architect industrial control systems (understanding of electrical design, PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, VFD, instrumentation, standards, etc.).
Analyzes technical project documentation to ensure consistency between budget and planning. Informs Project Manager when issues or difficulties could have an impact on the customer requirements.
Identifies project hot spots, criticalities, and activity priorities.
Define and follow-up on the planning of resource mobilization.
Writes or supervises the writing of the documentation required to deliver a project (such as, work breakdown structures, functional descriptions, detail design specifications, hardware and software FATs, etc.).
Build strong and positive customer relationships
Coordinates the engineering activities of the team members throughout the project with continuous improvement of operational excellence, optimization, costs and schedule criteria.
Manages the different interfaces by coordinating the activities of the team with all stakeholders on the project (other engineering disciplines, project team, working sites, construction, installation, etc.).
Writes and reviews proposals.
Proactively engages with customers to identify opportunities, understand their pain points, and offer recommended improvements
Required to potentially both execute and oversee the work done by the team and provide feedback to Project Management.
Must be able to technically support multiple projects efficiently and effectively.

Provides constructive feedback to management and team members regarding projects and policies in order to enhance Vizints business.
Completes administrative forms accurately and timely.
Reviews and follows all corporate guidelines.
Adheres to all safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
Accept other duties as assigned and perform all essential duties successfully.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Technical degree in relevant engineering, related field experience considered as well.
  • 5+ years of industrial automation experience designing, programming, and troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
  • Able to work in collaborative teams or autonomously without a supervising engineer
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic).
  • Preferred proficiency with Rockwell Software (Studio5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, etc.), Ignition, SQL, scripting, AutoCAD, Windows and Mac environments, UL508A, NEC, NFPA, Siemens Software (TIA Portal, WinCC, etc.), servos, VFDs, pneumatics, IIoT, data historians, etc.
