Job Expectations

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the cabin dynamics of their cabin group, engaging campers at meals, managing time in cabins and leading specific cabin activities
  • Leading their cabin group on an overnighter campout in our backwoods where cabin groups will cook dinner over the campfire, enjoy special activities and sleep under the stars.
  • Leading and/or supporting camp activities throughout the day for mixed groups of campers including small groups and all camp activities
  • Supporting other camp operation needs including leading campfires and morning inspirations, assisting with clean up and maintenance needs that may arise, assisting in the event of an emergency, and other duties that may be assigned by the directing team.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 or high school graduate
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Ability to work in the steep uneven terrain and rugged outdoor conditions of summer camp
  • Adult and Child First Aid & CPR certification valid for the duration of the program prior to June 20
  • Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to start of camp. Up to date on boosters strongly recommended.

Preferred, though not required:

  • Some college coursework
  • Previous summer camp experience as a camper or staff member
  • Waterfront lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain prior to June 20
