The Manufacturing Automation Technology Leader is a key member of the manufacturing structure, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of manufacturing technology development.

The Manufacturing Automation Technology Leader will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing operations for efficiency, productivity, and quality. By overseeing manufacturing engineering, automation, new process development, and the introduction of Industry 4.0, you are well-placed to lead the team in identifying and integrating technological advancements for the benefit of the organization.
As the Manufacturing Automation Technology Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing a plant wide manufacturing automation strategy that aligns with business objectives. Managing and investing in equipment, infrastructure, and resources to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Providing project management responsibilities for all new manufacturing equipment, automation projects, manufacturing production and plant initiatives. Including vendor selection, capital budgeting, statements of work, purchasing, installation and commissioning. Working with manufacturing engineering, plant facilities, machinery maintenance, sourcing, and finance.
- Identifying and implementing new technologies and process improvements to optimize manufacturing operations and reduce costs. Ensuring that all matters related to technology systems are properly documented and communicated as needed.
- Establishing partner relationships with 3rd party automation vendors in assessing, implementing, and strategizing manufacturing automation initiatives.
- Collaborating with other members of the manufacturing leadership team to ensure alignment of manufacturing technology strategy with overall business goals and objectives.
- Developing and managing budgets and resource allocation for automation technology initiatives and projects.
- Managing a team of engineering and technology professionals, providing coaching, training, evaluations, salary planning and development opportunities.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, and a master's degree in any are of Engineering, technology,
- Have 7 or more years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on automation and process improvement.
- To Have an Understanding and experience of Industry 4.0 and how it applies to manufacturing.
- Have experience in manufacturing automation development and implementation including automation of manufacturing processes for increased throughput/quality, robotics / co-bots, and software systems.
- Have project management experience – project scoping, budgeting, resourcing, time estimating, project tracking, and Gantt charts.
- Have prior experience leading a team of engineering or technology professionals in a manufacturing environment.
- Have Experience with lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies and implementation.
- To be able to Demonstrate skills in designing and scaling advanced manufacturing solutions.
- Have Excellent communication skills, with an ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
- To have commitment to continuous improvement and driving change in a collaborative way.
