Teacher Aide for the 2024/25 School Year (3 Positions)

Job Location: Missouri School for the Deaf (MSD), 505 E. 5th St., Fulton, MO 65251

Annual Salary: $29,568 annually (based on working 209 school days, starting in August 2024)

Hours: 7:30am - 4pm

Essential Functions:

The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below either with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Primary duty is assisting the classroom teacher in carrying out the individual education programs for students.
  • Assists in preparation of various teaching materials.
  • Obtains and sets up educational equipment or machines as required.
  • Makes notes and keeps records at the direction of a teacher.
  • Assists teacher in classroom work and may be assigned responsibility for specific sessions of tutoring students.
  • Assists with student activities in and out of the classroom.
  • Prepares original artwork for use by classroom teachers.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
  • In order to ensure student safety, you must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, walk distances between buildings on campus at a pace that allows you to keep up with the students to actively monitor them, have the ability to sit, stand, crouch, kneel, and perform physical tasks as needed to assist students in routine and crisis situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
  • Must be certified or be willing to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Teacher Aide experience preferred.
