Salary: $1,664.00 - $1,664.00 semi-monthly *Salary may be commensurate of education and/or experience

Job Location/Shift: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be assigned to the North Construction Crew that is based out of the Northern Regional Office, at 600 West Lockling, Brookfield, Missouri. Shift is Monday through Thursday (four, 10 hour days per week), 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work assignments are located over a large geographic area of Missouri that will require travel and overnight stays during the workweek, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

What you'll do:

  • Complete skilled work assignments in multiple building trades: Carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, masonry, roofing, drywall, heating and cooling and all phases of concrete work
  • Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed
  • Perform manual work requiring heavy lifting, reaching and bending
  • Safely haul equipment needed to work sites when needed
  • This position will be working with a diverse client base, including members of the public and other park staff. The ability to work well with others, willingness to learn, and a positive outlook will assist the candidate in being successful in this position.

All you need for success:

  • Four to six years of on-the-job training in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.
  • Ability to understand and complete assignments received orally or by written orders from sketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand/power tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license
  • Compliance with random drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight during the work week, i.e. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights
  • This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator's license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.
