Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Coordinator.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the Stroke program. Work with the Stroke Medical Director to coordinate the development and implementation of the comprehensive Stroke Program. Serve as Clinical liaison among various departments as it pertains to the care of the acute stroke patients. Responsible for establishing and monitoring clinical performance criteria, responsible for assuring compliance with Stroke Center regulatory requirements and responsible for staff education and direction.

Job Responsibilities:

      • Performs other duties as assigned
      • Consistently reviews new guidelines associated with the Comprehensive Stroke Program and assist in developing new policies and procedures to meet the necessary measures.
      • Educates ED, Nursing and medical Staff about stroke protocols
      • Ensures patient stroke education is provided
      • Submits required data to The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies as required. Assists in maintaining stroke registry.
      • Provides Educational programs for EMS and other staff throughout the hospital, including community education.
      • Collaborates with the Quality Department for data abstraction entry

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Healthcare related field.

Current NYS Registered Nurse License. 6 - 8 years Nursing experience.

Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, skills, leadership and creative problem solving skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented fashion; results oriented; comfortable in a deadline driven environment. . Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point). 

Preferred Qualifications:
1 - 2 years Leadership or supervisory experience.
