Some of this role key responsibilities are but not limited to  Lead, mentor, and increase the skills of a team of data scientists  Understanding and applying the principles of the defined data strategy to unique, moderately complex business problems  Analyzing business problems within one's discipline and questioning assumptions to help identify the root cause  Identifying and recommending approaches to resolve business problems across multiple business domains  Setting data analytics, big data analytics, and automation goals and deliverables based on established success criteria and defining key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the solution  Contribute to Walmart’s Data Science and Generative AI learnings and publications  Develop ideas based on experience and knowledge, then validate those ideas with research and Proof of Concepts (POCs)  What you’ll bring  5 plus years of experience in AI Research  10 plus years of experience with full ML development lifecycle.   Experience leading, mentoring, and managing teams of Data Scientists  A passion for discovering insights and solving problems with data  A strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, with technical expertise in data analytics, big data analytics, automation, and data visualization tools  Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of business problems to generate creative data-driven solutions, approach complex problems from unique perspectives, set goals, and measure progress and effectiveness of solutions.  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present complex information to small or large groups and individuals in a clear and concise manner.  Design and evaluation skills that can create and test hypotheses, experiments, and prototypes and measure and interpret the results  Learning and adaptation skills that can acquire and apply new tools, techniques, and frameworks to the data problems and challenges   Experience building machine learning models through all phases of development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation & monitoring.  Experience with delivering very large models through the MLOps life cycle from exploration to serving.  Familiarity with GPU clusters in the public cloud with tightly-coupled storage and networking.  Experience with the complete stack for distributed training of large models including ML compilers, distributed training frameworks, and ML development frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Pytorch Lightning etc.  Experience with one or multiple areas of generative AI technology stack including prompt engineering, guardrails, vector databases, advanced RAG, LLM hosting and fine-tuning.  Experience with LLM application evaluation strategy and interpretability, fairness and security of LLMs.  Deep experience with working with applications that leverage LLMs and vertical integration with enterprise applications.  Experience designing and implementing capabilities to support MLOps of LLMs.  Knowledge of a broad stack of technologies — Python, Huggingface, VectorDB, Pytorch, ElasticSearch, Azure, and more — to reveal the insights hidden within huge volumes of numeric and textual data  Authored research publications in top peer-reviewed conferences (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/AAAI), or industry-recognized contributions.  About Walmart Global Tech  Imagine working in an environment where one line of code can make life easier for hundreds of millions of people.
