Responsibilities

  • Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager
  • Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assists in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice
  • Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice
  • May act as the unit’s receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic Life Support Certified

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care

  • Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school

  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy
