Husband and wife team, John and Juliana Calloway have dreamt about the Farm to Taco concept for years and are thrilled to have Black Rooster be part of the Mills50 District community.
Chef John Calloway's modern take on Mexican cuisine* is a culinary celebration of the country's culture and history. Every dish is a twist on Latin flavor and made from the highest quality ingredients he can get his hands on. Alongside John, Ryder Calloway, (six years old, respectively) the restaurant's "Chief Tasting Officer" has hand picked some of the restaurant's art as well helped in the creation of a few recipes.
The restaurant's vibrancy is felt in both the menu and the décor. The colorful and authentic Day of the Dead themed atmosphere is highlighted with artwork from local artists, pre-loved refurbished furniture collected from the Central Florida area, and handmade tables by Chef John.
With Juliana at the creative helm, elements of their life, their experiences are brought together in a place to celebrate their mutual love of food and drink. The Calloways are excited to welcome you into an environment that evokes the memories of Mexico, South America, and their family.
*Real Talk: Gigantic burritos with a slab of sour cream, and fountain sodas aren't our gig. Black Rooster Taqueria only serves authentic food and the freshest flavors. Each of our plates are made with care and we are thrilled to share them with you.
