Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates Punch Presses. Press Operators will be responsible for making sure their presses are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained, perform periodic checks on output, while, operating punch presses in a manner that promotes safety and efficiency of producing Belleville Disc Springs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines including but not limited to PPE (safety glasses and hearing protection) and machine guarding
  • Prioritize all work-related activities for production efficiency
  • Set-up punch presses by installing metal stamping dies and setting feeds
  • Feeding material into the machine
  • Product inspection using specific measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and pin gauges to ensure the product meets customer's specifications
  • Performs machine maintenance and safety checks daily
  • Mechanical aptitude and use of basic hand tools
  • Adhere to quality control policies to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use calipers, micrometer, and pin gauges.
  • Ability to read blueprints or work tickets.
  • Microsoft office such as Excel for data entry.
  • Basic Math (i.e., addition, subtraction, and converting fractions into decimals).
  • Lifting and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Standing, pushing, pulling, reaching may be required.


Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years punch press experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to work to close tolerances
  • Able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
