Clean Harbors in Santa Fe, NM is looking for a Hazmat Disposal Technician- Hospital to join their safety conscious team! This person would be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with collecting, segregating, packing, labeling, and preparing for shipment of medical and hazardous waste in accordance with our company policies and procedures at our client location.

Must be willing to get vaccines with a specific focus on Hepatitis B and COVID.  Also, an annual TB test (blood test) or as needed.

*Travel between Santa Fe, NM and Albuquerque, NM weekly - paid driving time and mileage for your not at home location.

Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Prepares computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications Performs inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance;
Inspects storage area for leaks or spills;
Inspects containers and drums for compliance with labeling regulations;
Collects, segregates, and properly packages medical waste/sharps and waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
Physically demanding position; Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk 15,000-25,000 steps a day.
Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.

 
Qualifications for Internal Candidates  
 

High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
Hazardous waste experience a plus;
