Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, Equipment, and grounds. Working under close supervision and assists in monitoring building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. Assist with managing vendors and taking on-call duties and overtime, as required.

  • Electrical repairs, New electrical installs, Electrical repairs up to 480v, DC electrical work

  • Humidity control

  • All BMA, Building Maintenance Technician responsibilities
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.
  • Study and become familiar with the various items of Equipment, and the methods required to use them properly, that are required in everyday activities. This to include building automation systems, fire / life safety systems, and any other building related equipment.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Must be willing and able to support any after-hours building related activity as required. 
  • Attend periodic training seminars
  • Interacts with external and internal customers with a positive demeanor.
  • Will be required to utilize e-mail, Corrigo, enter, query and change fields within a CMMS system (updating work orders).  
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite to utilize word and excel for daily work tasks 
  • On call duties and overtime as required
  • Steadily improve skills to achieve license/certification status in one or more technical skill areas.  

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school certification, formalized training; vocational training; licenses; journeyman, with core competency in a trade(s) having the ability to support listed objectives and responsibilities above are required. 
  • Minimum five years of experience required this is a skilled level position. 
  • Has a strong aptitude and positive attitude for learning new skills.  Candidate should be able to take direction and mentoring from the professional/leadership site team.
  • Able to carry 50 lbs.
  • Provide service for first response to equipment failures/plant down events
  • Works as a cohesive team member taking direction and training from engineering team.
  • After-hours building related activity

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • High work order response time and closure percentages.
  • Client satisfaction.
  • Increased scope with on-going training.
  • Maintain current skill set and stay current with technology.
  • Willingness to learn and advance to a higher technical role.
