Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direct supervision of the CNC or ED Manager, the staff nurse plans, implements, and evaluates and documents nursing care for patients.

What qualifications you will need:

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 1 - 3 years of experience
  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • BSN Degree preferred
  • Alternate Entry MSN Program 

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state required
  • BCLS Required
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire
  • ENPC required within 12 months of hire 
    • Note: All current employees who had PALS/PLS and were hired prior to 4/1/2022, must obtain ENPC prior to PALS/PLS Expiration.

  • TNCC or ATCN required within 12 months of employment or transfer to the department
    • Note: Current employees hired prior to 4/1/2022, must obtain TNCC or ATCN

      by 12/31/2022. 

  • NIHSS Certification required within 60 days of hire and annually
  • Annual Education
    • As a RN caring for acute strong and trauma patients, you will be required to:
    • Complete assigned stroke and trauma education upon hire and maintain annual stroke and trauma education per your unit direction.
