Controls Engineer
Location: Rockford, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year (Depending on Experience)

A leading manufacturer of machine tools and automation equipment is seeking a talented and dedicated Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and some mechanical systems to meet project requirements and delivery schedules. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and make a meaningful impact in the manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance skills and knowledge in project organization, engineering standards, and scientific investigation.
Lead independent projects and guide team members to successful project completion.
Create working drawings, layouts, schematics, and bills of materials using AutoCAD Electrical.
Ensure thorough documentation of completed projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve wiring errors on machines using electrical expertise.
Configure control parameters for seamless machine integration.
Debug interface software and make necessary edits.
Apply mechanical knowledge to diagnose machine issues and develop testing parameters.
Operate machines and controls during customer runoffs..
Master and develop circuits for machine control and safety.
Develop control parameters and ladder logic.
Create HMI software in C# or C++ as required.
Design and detail simple brackets and cabinets using AutoCAD (ACAD).
Possess a deep understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic components and schematics.
Fully comprehend mechanical systems and their relationship to control systems.
Utilize the ERP system for Item Master and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation..
Be available for projects of varying durations, spanning weeks to months.
Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
Depending on workloads, be open to working in other areas of the company.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, C#, C++, or similar programming languages.
Experience in machine controls, automation, and manufacturing systems.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to adapt and learn in a dynamic work environment.
