Position Title: Tactical Data Link Unit Manager (LUM)

Location: Joint Base Charleston, SC

Clearance Required: Secret

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 7:30 am 4:30 pm

Salary: $42.66 - $46.89/hour (Nonexempt), plus benefits

GC Associates requires a Tactical Data Link Unit Manager (LUM) in support of the Air Mobility Command Operations Group to manage locally operated networks, modifies, and operates equipment associated with Dynamic Retasking Capability DRC and Link-16. The LUM needs to be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances in a medium- to high-stress environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Act as a Multi-TDL expert and interface between wing TDL participants and other elements of the TDL operational infrastructure.

· Extract information from the appropriate Operational Tasking Links (OPTASKLINK) required to operate in a network.

· Coordinate Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) Unit numbers with higher level agencies.

· Interface between own unit platforms and the exercise/host manager when wing assets are either participating in an exercise or deploying to participate in TDL operations managed by another unit.

· Coordinate unit TDL equipment requirements and the networks to meet local-unit requirements, to include

· interfacing between the wing and higher-level agencies.

· Ensure unit operators are knowledgeable of and follow procedures mandated in applicable laws and

regulations such as FAA rules, CJCSMs, AFIs, and AFMANs when operating TDLs.

· Obtain network descriptions and initialization data loads (IDL) for all Link-16 and SADL networks and

maintain them in a library for use by operations personnel.

· Manage training requirements applicable to local and subordinate unit link operators.

Access the Link Pulse Deconfliction Server (LPDS) for Time Slot Duty Factor (TSDF) for all planned Link16 operations and coordinate with the base spectrum manager as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Highly skilled and experienced working with Dynamic Retasking Capability (DRC) and Link-16 equipment, knowledge of Joint Range Extension (JRE), and Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI).
  • Secret clearance
