Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to spearhead the ongoing development and refinement of electrical systems for FAA-certified single-engine aircraft. This role entails intricate design work and analysis within the realm of electrical systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, test, certify, and provide ongoing engineering support for various facets of aircraft electrical systems, including power generation, storage, distribution, and wire harness design.
  • Lead small teams of electrical engineers on complex projects, overseeing their efforts and ensuring project success.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and avionics teams to integrate electrical systems effectively, addressing circuit design, electromagnetic effects, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate design efforts and system integration with subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Develop certification plans and reports in compliance with FAR Part 23 requirements, demonstrating adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant field.
  • Preferred experience in:
    • Aircraft or automotive electrical system design.
    • Circuit board design and analysis.
    • Power generation and distribution.
    • Proficiency in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition tools.
    • Familiarity with software tools like CREO, Matlab, Eagle, VBA, or similar programs.
    • Ability to work effectively in multifunctional teams.
    • Conducting trade studies to explore alternative design concepts.
    • Strong communication skills, including reading and writing technical documents and presenting design reviews.
