POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Site Accountant is responsible for analyzing and reconciling various balance sheet and income statement accounts, preparing financial statements, and entry of financial and costing data into appropriate systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete assigned work safely and efficiently with or without direct supervision
  • Provide professional accounting and financial expertise to site
  • Prepare presentation and financial analyses
  • Promote cost controls and efficiency throughout the business
  • Complete accounting activities for gold sales, royalties and intercompany balances
  • Assist with general ledger accounting; prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close process, quarterly audits and quarterly financial templates
  • Review costs for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare financial statements and reports
  • Facilitate with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Track daily transactions in multiple bank accounts for multiple entities and prepare, track and account for bank wire transfers
  • Assist with accounts payable/receivable as needed
  • All other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Finance, required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in accounting or finance in a mining environment, preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or CMA designation, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently use SAP, preferred.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds, required.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently with minimal supervision, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position, required.
