Overview:
Systems Administrators execute most routine administrative functions for all enterprise server and storage services. This position is responsible for all our virtual and physical server and storage administration including systems software, configuration, updating and monitoring of all the client’s environments. Systems Administrators receive direction, design, and coordination from the Systems Engineering and Management staff within the Enterprise Systems team.
What you will be doing:
  • Support the vision of the organization by acting as an integral part of the Enterprise Systems Operations team.
  • Responsible for daily administration of our virtual and physical server environment.
  • Assist in the upgrades, installs, and troubleshoots server and storage hardware devices and software.
  • Performs routine Microsoft, VMware, Linux updates and operational maintenance tasks assigned via the organization ServiceNow ticketing system using ITIL best practices.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains administrative system software.
  • Installs upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment as directed.
  • Assists with the daily administration of the server and storage environments.
  • Provides daily administration functions for tribal server and storage services.
  • Work closely with Service Center staff to ensure user community needs are being serviced in a timely fashion for best user experience.
  • May be responsible for tracking the parts inventory and maintenance of documentation.
  • Supports the standardization of the network, server, and storage infrastructure plan.
  • Develops and documents system standards for server and storage devices.
  • Must have knowledge in internet, computer, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Evaluates and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new server and storage equipment.
  • Monitors server and storage performance and performs testing to provide diagnosis of issues and to assist with deployment of solutions.
  • Supports and maintains a disaster recover, security, and backup/restore plan and policy.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and systems upkeep.
  • Organize and schedule onsite technical repairs to server and storage devices.
  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Assist in new project implementation under the direction of System Engineers.
  • Works on projects/matters of Limited complexity in a support role.
  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
  • Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
  • May conduct evaluation of new technologies to optimize system efficiency and performance.
  • Work is highly independent. May have to assume a team lead role for the work group.
  • Reports to manager.
  • Requires Systems Administrator Level II Experience.
  • May require a Systems Administrator type certification
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
What you must have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field preferred.
  • Four (4) years of system administration experience in the Information Technology field required.
  • Ability to follow predefined procedures and processes to execute standard daily administration for tribal systems infrastructure.
  • Must be able to take direction from the engineering and management staff to execute the mission of the department.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret technical language and transform into laymen’s terms for the customer to understand.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, a strong customer service mentality, and demonstrated organizational and skills are a must.
  • Systems facilitation and change management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.
  • Initiative and Problem Solving: Actively seeks solutions to problems before being asked or directed. Experience working under deadlines and multiple projects.
  • One or more certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or higher, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat: (RHCSA & RHCE), CompTIA Server+, etc.
  • Must be able to pass background check and receive a gaming license from the organization’s Gaming Commission as required to work in gaming operations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
