Teacher Early Head Start EHS

Position: As an Early Head Start Teacher 1 you will work with infants and toddlers in a classroom setting with a team of teachers. We have 2 Early Head Start centers, one in Valley Springs and one in San Andreas. As a Teachers, you will work with the other teaching staff, providing a comprehensive and educational program for children ages 0 to 3 years of age. As a teaching team, you will work to set up both the indoor and outdoor learning environments creating a welcoming environment that promotes physical, social, emotional and educational growth while making sure to implement our age-appropriate curriculum that is in line with Head Start's educational goals and standards. All Teachers are expected to actively supervise and participate with children during all activities while displaying energy, enthusiasm and maintaining evident interest in the job. Each of our 2 Early Head Start sites has an individual culture while still following Head Start Performance Standards and you will need to be flexible when partnering with the different staff, children and families at the site. All teachers work together in making the site is in compliance with all health, safety and Community Care Licensing requirements while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. All staff are expected to treat each other, the children and families, our program serves, with dignity and respect, and demonstrates patience and self-control when dealing with a possible challenging situation. All staff are expected to be punctual and reliable and perform the tasks and responsibilities with integrity while making effective use of the time schedule.

Full-Time Position: Monday - Friday/ Year-round 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $ 16.75 to $ 18.22

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Some experience working with young children
• Child Development Associate Teacher permit required within six months of hire
• 12 ECE units, including core courses. 6 units must be infant/toddler focus
• California Health and Safety Certificate
• CPR and First Aid (required within six months of hire)

Special Requirements

• Health screening, proof of current negative TB test, immunizations required by Community Care Licensing (measles, pertussis/Dtap) and current influenza shot.
• Valid California Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance coverage
