Summary of Position:

Responsible for consistently preparing appetizing, attractive meals, prepared in a pleasant, sanitary, and efficient manner. Work in a very high paced and high volume environment. Work as needed to achieve service goals while ensuring a quality experience at Nitehawk for co-works and guests. Contribute to developing Nitehawk Cinema as the premier dinner and movie destination in NYC.


General Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily prep when asked and needed for successful service. Keeping items consistent and being aware of quality control. Check all in-house products to ensure freshness. Keeping all items organized and properly stocked, as well as labeled.

  • Abide by all Department of Health guidelines and regulations. Keep a clean work station that is stocked and maintained throughout service.

  • Learn menu items and stay current on menu changes.

  • Able to multitask

  • Follow all opening and closing procedures and leave the work station clean, tidy and appropriately stocked.

  • Work to the best of your abilities for a successful service for all shifts.

  • Communicate well with Chefs and MODs.

  • Know all safety guidelines in the kitchen and assure proper use and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.

  • Perform additional responsibilities requested from a superior.

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests with questions or in need of assistance.

  • Focus on working through stressful situations while remaining calm and solution oriented.


Employment requirements:

  • Arrive on time and ready to work at your scheduled in-time. Attend all mandatory staff meetings.

  • Responsible for retaining and implementing information included in staff emails.

  • Adhere to all Nitehawk policies and maintain professionalism at all times.

  • Prioritize service and guest experience. Support co-workers to assure smooth service.

  • Must maintain extensive food menu knowledge

  • Have the necessary skill set to perform well as a Line cook to maintain full time status.

  • Must have the ability to work on your feet for long periods of time, carry and lift items up to 50 lbs and be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift items.


Scheduling requirements:

Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Holiday schedules may vary from usual schedules and you are not to assume days off on holiday weeks. Schedules will be posted in advance. You are responsible for posted schedules and to find coverage for shifts you are unable to work. Working Holidays throughout the year is necessary, and winter holidays will have altered schedules for the last 2 weeks of the year. Hours are not guaranteed and will fluctuate depending on business levels.

Full-time - Must be able to work at least 2 weekend shifts (Fri - Sun)
