Job Summary: Software Developer

Our software environment allows developers to create tools and custom modules that our configuration specialists and clients can configure through the user interface to meet our clients’ business needs. The system interacts with our databases using T-SQL & Microsoft SQL Server. The web-side of our product(s) use a mixture of ASP.NET MVC, VB.NET 4.6.2, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS and more. Developers are problem solvers and are responsible for writing and executing database queries for reports, creating, and modifying stored procedures, functions, and views in T-SQL, developing custom modules and tools to interact with internal and external interfaces and diagnosing and debugging malfunctions or errors. Working in a highly collaborative environment with time also spent completing individual tasks relating to project goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of easy-to-use, high-quality browser-based user interfaces
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, solutions, and company offerings
  • Develop custom modules and solutions to the needs of our individual clients
  • Create SQL Stored Procedures, JavaScript functions, and other tools to enhance the functionality of our MVC application.
  • Convert code (SQL, VB.NET, JavaScript, etc.) from our legacy systems to work with our new environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other team members to optimize efficiency, consistency, and quality
  • Perform other similar and related duties as required or as directed

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Solid object-oriented programming skills with VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC and ADO.NET in a Windows environment are necessary
  • Experience with Visual Studio, T-SQL/SQL Server, XML, XSL
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, & JavaScript
  • Experience with libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, Kendo UI, Knockout.js, and Bootstrap preferred
  • Ability to be creative, strategic, analytical, and think outside the box to solve problems
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Interpersonal skills with a keen ability to explain complex concepts across the organization and to small audiences
  • Entity Framework, and LINQ preferred
  • Experience with ADA compliance preferred
  • Experience with mobile development and responsiveness preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum of 3-5 years of relatable work experience.

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with demonstrated software development skills
