NAGEL Architects + Engineers has an opportunity for an Architectural Associate to join our team!

Job Summary:       

The Architectural Associate ensures that the design intent of the project is realized throughout all phases of design, including concept drawings, design development, technical documentation and construction administration. The Architectural Associate also works with the design team to ensure technical assembly of the contract documents for multiple projects and plays a primary role in the development and coordination of buildings systems design.  Candidates must have excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills and possess a strong desire to contribute in a fast-paced, challenging, and client-focused environment.

Essential Job Functions and Leadership Responsibilities:

1. Participate in project design from concept phase through construction administration
2. Assist with code and regulation review
3. Evaluate existing building conditions
4. Assist with marketing efforts and creation of presentation materials
5. Support and collaborate with the design team to prepare design documents including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
6. Contribute design solutions during the design process
7. Research products and materials
8. Set up and manage project files
9. Review shop drawings to ensure consistency with design intent

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency with Autocad or Revit and other relevant systems for drawing creation and presentation
• Strong drawing and communication skills

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent computer skills

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
• Knowledge of design programs such as Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, and Photoshop
• Familiarity with healthcare, multi-family residential, and retail design
