Virtual Special Education Teacher

Location: Washington (Remote)
Job Type: Part time, Short Term Contract through end of School Year
Pay: $40/Hour


As a Virtual Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. Leveraging your expertise in special education and technology, you will deliver high-quality instruction, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Virtual Instruction: Provide live and recorded instruction in accordance with students' IEP goals and objectives using virtual learning platforms and educational technology tools.
  • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs, establish goals, and develop prehensive IEPs tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.
  • Adapt Instructional Strategies: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, including but not limited to learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental delays.
  • Provide Student Support: Offer ongoing support and feedback to students, monitor their progress, and implement interventions as needed to ensure academic success and social-emotional well-being.
  • Foster Collaboration: Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive practices and facilitate a cohesive learning experience for students with disabilities.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of student progress, attendance, and munication with parents and stakeholders in pliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in special education and online learning to continuously improve instructional delivery and student outes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid Washington state teaching license with Special Education endorsement
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a virtual or remote setting
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Proficiency in virtual learning platforms and educational technology tools
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
