Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team for the school year in Chesterfield, SC. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work onsite and make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse needs. As a Special Education Teacher in the resource setting, you will work full time, Monday through Friday, for 35 hours per week. We have openings available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs in the resource setting
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support student success and inclusion
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, including IEP goals, progress notes, and reports
  • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education in the state of South Carolina (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a special education setting
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IEP development and implementation
  • Strong instructional and behavior management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and educational staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dedication to providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs
