Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

Grade Level: High School

Program: Resource Classroom

Job Description: Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Montgomery, Alabama area. This position is for a secondary special education teacher to work in a high school resource classroom. If you are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating an inclusive learning environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and transition planning
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to support student success
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Alabama Teaching Certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with high school students with special needs preferred
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and behavior management techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
