Design Engineer

Summary: Seeking a seasoned Design Engineer for comprehensive handling of engineering projects, from design to resolution of manufacturing and installation issues.

Requirements:

• AS or BS in either Mechanical or related Engineering Field

• 5 to 6 years design experience in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering Field

• Experience with power transmission components such as electric motors, speed reducers, sheaves and v-belts, sprockets and chain, bushings and shafts, bearings

• Knowledge of AISC, AWS, OSHA, and MSHA standards

• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD 3D modeling, design, and 2D drawing creation

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and technical drawings

• Good math skills for calculations and estimates

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with sizing/selecting hydraulic drives & motion systems

• Steel detailing experience

• Experience within the Bulk Material Handling Industry

• Experience with structural steel calculations & reinforced concrete

• Shafting verification for bending & torsional applications

Responsibilities:

• Serve as Senior Design Engineer for various projects from inception to completion

• Interpret specifications; perform design engineering; select components; create/check drawings; resolve problems during manufacturing/installation.

• Review new orders along with associated specifications/technical documents.

• Manage small projects within Engineering ensuring all details are covered/requirements are met.

• Prepare design calculations, 3D models/drawings/sketches/bills of materials.

• Layout basic to complex structures incorporating various types of equipment.

 

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
