Pay: $50/Hour


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at a school in Lancaster, CA. As a School Occupational Therapist, you will work with students to help them achieve their full potential by addressing barriers to their academic success through therapy interventions. This position offers an opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of students, collaborating with educators and families to promote student growth and independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prehensive assessments to evaluate students' sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, student needs, and educational goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in groups, focusing on improving fine motor skills, coordination, handwriting, self-care skills, and sensory processing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational plans and classroom activities.
  • Provide remendations for adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and assistive technology to support students' participation in school activities.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, documenting all interventions and progress notes accurately and timely.
  • Educate school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students' development and independence within the school environment.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education program (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative efforts to support student success.
  • Stay current with best practices and evidence-based interventions in the field of pediatric occupational therapy, attending professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and ply with all federal, state, and local regulations related to special education services and occupational therapy practice.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of California.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, including Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • passionate and patient-centered approach to working with students with diverse needs and backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and fulfill other requirements for employment in a school setting.
