A small and growing firm in Maine is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. As a Staff Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and expertise to our organization. You will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing our clients in various legal proceedings.

Role and Responsibilities

· Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.

· Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.

· Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials, advocating for their best interests, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

· Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, striving to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professional integrity.

· Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance to clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring they understand their rights and legal options.

· Assist in the management of legal projects and cases, collaborating with colleagues and other legal professionals to achieve organizational objectives.

· Maintain effective communication and collaboration with other attorneys and legal staff members, fostering a supportive and cohesive work environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

· Admitted to practice law in Maine.

· Strong Knowledge of legal principles and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to apply legal concepts effectively.

· Proven experience conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis or similar platforms.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop practical solutions.

· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
