Checker/QC 1st & 2nd Shifts

Checker/QC employees must:

• Possess a valid TWIC.
• Steel toe boots/shoes.
• are not using cellular phones while on duty.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for ensuring that all products loaded on a vessel are counted and tallied accurately and timely. Coordinate with personnel to ensure hatches do not run out of product. Responsible for the accuracy of all reports that are used to balance with the office. Constantly monitor the QA clerks. maintaining inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for visual inspection of all products being received or loaded.
• Responsible for visual inspection of all products being received or loaded.

• Responsible for the accuracy of all counts and for following proper tallying procedures.
• Responsible for accuracy legibility completion and timely submission of all documentation.
• Perform quality audits.

• Maintain coordination of team functions, ensuring continuous control of the daily team operations. Consistently aware of work conditions, time, service, and quality.
• Establishes leadership in terms of setting examples in appearance, attendance, demeanor, responsibility, and dedication to the company.

• Maintain sanitation and housekeeping in the work and dock area.

• Ensures goods are stored in the correct area for efficient retrieval.
• Performs quality-checking responsibilities as required.
• Additional duties as assigned. the supervisor of situations that are unsafe or not in the best interest of the team.

• Responsible for ensuring all team tasks are completed by the end of the shift.
• Works on miscellaneous projects as needed.
• Able to function independently, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative and tact in handling all the above responsibilities.

  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  
  
• 6+ months of warehouse experience performing quality audits.
• Familiar with export-import requirements and documents.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Ability to regularly stand, walk long distances, and talk and hear.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds, with assistance or lifting machinery as necessary.
• Must wear Seaonus required safety PPE, Safety vest, hard, gloves, etc.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Working indoors and outdoors.
• Excessive heat or cold, extreme weather conditions, excessive humidity or dampness or chilling.
• Slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
