As a 3D CAD Designer you will:

  • Develop 3D models and drawings based on job-specific information provided by external customers and design criteria set by the chimney division.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software (Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, etc.) to create new models or revise existing ones according to updated information.
  • Verify the work of other drafters, adhering to guidelines established by the chimney division and customer-supplied information.
  • Generate detailed custom part drawings for manufacturing purposes.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, addressing inquiries and obtaining additional information required for accurate drawing production.
  • Provide product support as needed, leveraging your expertise to assist internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Enter new drawing requests and revision requests into the drawing log, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Communicate drawing status to customers, ensuring transparency and proactive updates.
  • Take on additional assigned duties as necessary to support the overall design team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in CAD preferred; High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant CAD design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software (Creo/ProE, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, enabling effective 2D drafting and detailing.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience working with part libraries, streamlining the design process.
  • Familiarity with parts lists and Bill of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation.
