Major Function

Weigh and mix ingredients according to recipe. Judge start-time of mix based on its production life.

Position Levels

Entry Level: Typically one year of less experience.

Job Level: Employee demonstrates competence in performance of all aspects of the position.

Senior Level: Employee is able to mentor and assist other employees. Employee demonstrates responsibility and understands how the position impacts overall production.

Specific Duties

1. Select appropriate recipe from schedule.
2. Scale ingredients according to recipe.
3. Meter water.
4. Operate the flour silo.
5. Mix ingredients in mixing machine.
6. Take temperature of dough with dough thermometer. Adjust dough temperature as required.
7. Record temperature, lot numbers and batch time on record log.
8. Record lot numbers.
9. Using mixing bowl lifter, drop dough onto dough table.
10. Fill hoppers (meca & boule) for production line.
11. Clean mixers to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs between products. Important to ensure that no end-user suffer allergic reactions or that item maintains Kosher status.
12. Assist other workers as necessary.
13. Maintain Mixing area in clean state.

Needs to have at least 6mos Food Manufacturing Mixer experience.

Hours are from 2pm to 10pm or 10pm to 6am Monday to Saturday $15.50 hr base pay plus $1hr shift differential

Requirements:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Read recipe
2. Operate weigh scale.
3. Ability to read cumulative numbers.
4. Ensure no cross contamination between products.
5. Understand the entire process from mixing to baking and how the mix time affects the entire production run.
6. Procedure for operation of all mixers.
7. Judge quality of produced dough for all recipes.
8. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
