Job Summary: Hughes General Contractors, Inc. is actively searching for several experienced Carpenters to join our growing team, in the Escalante Utah area! Individuals will perform tasks involving commercial construction projects in the SLC, Utah area.

Essential Functions: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. • Be able to read and interpret plans and shop drawings
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
• Be willing to work in somewhat extreme weather conditions
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent/Foreman, Safety Manager, Safety Officer or HR Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• General wood and metal stud framing experience
• Door framing and installation abilities
• Proficient in Math
• Have knowledge and proven skills in safely operating hand and power tools
• Some experience supervising 4 or more individuals
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds)
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

Education, Training and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction experience
• Have completed or be willing to compete OSHA 10hr (we are able to provide this training if necessary)
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work follow verbal and written instructions

Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
