Job Overview

The Learning Center (LC) provides academic support for international students studying at OSU through peer tutoring. Students use LC tutoring services to practice their English skills, receive feedback on their assignments, and study for exams. Peer tutors mainly help students with their English skills but may be asked to also provide tutoring for other courses based on the tutor’s ability and student need. The Learning Center also houses a small resource library, study spaces and computer labs, so peer tutors are cross trained as lab assistants who perform simple administrative tasks and help maintain the LC spaces and materials. Successful applicants are current OSU students with strong English language skills and have a desire to help other students succeed. New tutors will receive relevant training after hiring, so applicants do not need tutoring experience.
