About the Role:

The purpose of the automation technician role is to maintain the computer-controlled systems and robotic devices in order to reduce human intervention and maximize efficiency. Our automation technicians troubleshoot to determine if a problem is mechanical, electrical or computer systems related. After diagnosis the automation technician is responsible for repair; replacing any needed components such as sensors or electrical wiring. Primary Responsibilities

  • Undertake troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment to determine problems associated with the machines
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment to ensure that equipment and processes run smoothly
  • Upgrade hardware and software for improved process control and safety improvements.
  • Ensure the calibration of all machines and maintenance after calibration
  • Provide technical assistance and support regarding all projects, installations, and repairs
  • Communicate findings, upgrades, and troubleshooting to colleagues and management through the e-mail, texts, and voice calls

The Right Candidate:

  • Has 3+ years experience with PLC’s in an industrial or integration environment.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the Rockwell Automation group of automation controllers: ControlLogix platform, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix.
  • Has a working knowledge of Human Machine Interface software, including Wonderware and/or FTView.
  • Possess skills in the areas of fluid power, manufacturing processes, electricity, electronics, and mechanical systems
  • Has mechanical knowledge concerning machines and tools including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Possess broad-based knowledge in order to successfully troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve problems that relate to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.
  • Understands troubleshooting in determining the causes of operating errors and knowing what to do spontaneously
  • Has the ability to think critically to solve problems and be detail-oriented so they can follow complex instructions.
  • Hold interpersonal skills to lead and communicate with peers (oral and written)
