Industrial Electrician

The electrician is responsible for the building of industrial switchgear, installation, calibration and repair of all electrical systems up to and including 24v,120v, 480v. Performs, repairs and installs as directed by the supervisor.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES

• Provides accurate and complete records as required for specific tasks.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area.
• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on all electrical systems.
• Maintains and troubleshoots VFDs, motor soft starters, PLCs, & Motor Control Centers.
• Installs, maintains and repairs electrical circuits including wires, contactors, breakers, breaker boxes, and motor control components.
• Makes necessary electrical installations and/or repairs; services plants, crusher plants, conveyors, MCC's, control systems, & system processing equipment components.
• Ensures that all new installations and repairs meet MSHA and OSHA requirements.
• Performs ground testing on new installations and completes yearly ground testing.
• Responsible to provide all hand tools required for the performance of the position.
• Reads and understands electrical schematics, and technical operational manuals.
• Follows work procedures safely and as defined for specific tasks.
• Accountable that all work complies with NEC and any state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• 4 years' experience as an electrician.
• 2 years industrial electrical experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• Ability to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks, and vehicles.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
• Able to lift 50 pounds periodically and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Able to read and interpret various safety warning signs and product MSDS, tags, and labels.
