POSITION SUMMARY:The Plant Operator Trainee is responsible for assistance with maintenance and repair work and plant operations under the guidance of certified operations personnel at water treatment plants, groundwater wells and water towers. This position is supervised by a Division Supervisor or Division Manager and reports indirectly to the Assistant Director and the Director of Utilities.

WORK HOURS: Shift Work; Shift May Vary

WORK LOCATION: In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requireswork to be performed onsite.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $20.05 perhour and will increase to$20.85 per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please click onthis link for compensation/benefits information

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING

A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.
PREFERED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
One (1) year of experience in performing semi-skilled building, mechanical, construction, or grounds maintenance tasks is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with Utilities leadership in achieving those goals.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to those of internal or external to the department.
Must possess a valid Driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position
Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to have operations 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, physical capability examinations for the position.
