PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position supports all the maintenance needs including plant and utilities for all Jackson locations. This position directs utilities maintenance, plant maintenance, molding equipment maintenance, and assigning specific duties to all Maintenance technicians; the incumbent supervises all remedial predictive and preventive maintenance and completes all necessary documentation.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Lead and direct all maintenance personnel-ensuring maximum up time and efficiency. Will perform maintenance work as well.

· Supervise Jackson Maintenance Technicians

· Ordering, managing and inventorying of spare parts and supplies critical to operation. Recommend and maintain adequate spare parts. Implement, maintain and update all inventoried items on a regular basis using a Kanban system.

· Oversee and coordinate equipment, maintenance, modifications, and repair functions. Direct on-call maintenance and be available for emergencies. Work together with the Jackson Production Dept., Assembly, Quality, Setup, and Jackson Management to correct equipment issues effecting part quality.

· Implement and oversee preventative maintenance. May be called upon to perform general plant maintenance.

· Negotiate with vendors for spare parts, lead new equipment installation, equipment modification, and utility efficiency efforts.

· Submit payroll for subordinates; ensure time and attendance is completed accurately for the purpose of payroll.

· Recommend and lead continuous improvement projects.

· Write operating procedures for maintenance functions.

· Assist other molding locations, as required, to improve efficiencies and standardized processes where applicable.

· Perform employee evaluations and disciplinary actions.

· All other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor or designee.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Minimum of a 2-3 year Technical Degree and/or 2-3 years Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Demonstrated PC skills that include experience with MS Excel, Word and Access.

· Ability to effectively communication; written & verbal

· Demonstrated use in mathematics

· Demonstrated Leadership skills – 2-4 years supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment

· Demonstrated Interpersonal skills – 2-4 years using organizational and time management skills in an environment that required multi-tasking

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Technical degree or 2-4 years Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing. Must be able to operate a forklift truck; which requires the use of arms and legs, the ability to get onto truck and depth perception to stack and/or move crates or other material. Must have finger dexterity and be able to see and hear. Must be able to climb and work from a ladder. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Safety equipment consists of all forms of PPE such as; safety glasses, ear plugs and steel-toed shoes. Must be able to come to work as scheduled on a regular basis and be able to work scheduled shifts as necessary.
