Summary/Objective

To maintain all outdoor and common areas in a safe and attractive condition. The Crew Leader leads a crew of Grounds Workers and is a vital component of our community’s day to day impression on existing residents and prospective residents. As such the Crew Leader is expected to maintain a high level of quality customer service and professionalism and ensure that property has the highest level of curb appeal 365 day a year for MSC Apartments. Must have a valid driver license.

Essential Functions

  • Work alongside the grounds crew in the maintenance of grounds.
  • Supervise a crew or multiple crews and sometimes subcontractors on projects, and ensure adherence to schedule.
  • Assist with the assignment of tasks to workers.
  • Operation of heavy equipment.
  • Ensure that each individual's work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for completing any tasks that are beyond the skill of their crew members.
  • Follows personnel and safety procedures and ensures crew members are wearing required and appropriate PPE.
  • Ensures daily PM and inventory of assigned equipment.
  • Keeps accurate time records for crew throughout the day for work performed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime may be required. On call for snow removal 24 hours a day during snow events.

Travel/ Driving

  • "On-call" status for snow removal.
  • Must have valid driver's license.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
