Description:
Basic Function:
Review, update, create procedures, work instructions and documents to support production departments in producing a quality product. Position will interact with all plant personnel especially production employees to verify and train the materials being updated and developed. Will assist with Purchasing/Material Manufacturing database as needed and maintain/control of MSDS for the plant.

Responsibilities:
- Create/update technical documents in accordance with customer standards, ensuring accurate content, organization, style, format within our documentation system
- Work collaboratively with production employees, engineers, management to meet project deliverables
- Responsible for the correct and consistent transfer and implementation of text, screen shots, and graphics in a clear and accurate manner
- Conduct review of completed documentation with appropriate personnel, finalizing updates, getting sign-off and placing document controls on all completed work
- Maintain configuration management and control over documents from initiation until delivery
- Assist as back-up for the material manufacturing database and purchasing function
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
- Maintain and control Material Safety Data Sheet System (MSDS)
- Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on internal processes and documentation and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
- Review & inspect all material being created, building self-inspection into everything you create and process
- Participates in special projects as assigned by manager
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering, production personnel, and management.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.
- Experience with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), image editing & photography.
- Strong overall computer skills.
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent,
- Associate Degree in English, Communication, or related discipline preferred.
- 2 or more years of technical writing experience, a plus
Experience:
- Familiar with procedures, work instructions & formatting of documents
