Server

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Servers are responsible for taking orders and serving food and drinks to customers with a positive attitude and ensuring that the tables are served properly, and all payments are collected in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude

2. Enter orders into the point of sales system

3. Engage with customers on a friendly manner

4. Knowledge of the menu with the ability to upsell and make suggestions

5. Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems

6. Collect payment from tables

7. Complete opening, running, and closing side work

8. Make sure the restaurant is always clean and ready for customers

9. Clock in and out and claim tips

10. Record any tip outs

11. Complete cash out and cash drop accurately

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment, and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be both a team player and self-starter.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
2. Restaurant or customer service experience preferred
3. Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card
4. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
5. Working knowledge of sanitation procedures

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs with assistance

2. Must be willing to work swing shifts, weekends and holidays as directed by General Manager

3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally

4. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
