Director of Components

Position Summary

The Director of Components will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities pertaining to vehicle components, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient engineering operations. The Director will have responsibility for the revenue and gross margin for the operations, safety, development, and execution of key processes and systems as well as the continued fast-paced growth of the team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Direct the organization’s overall components operations.
  • Works hand in hand with Program Engineering Director on the preparation and final approval of project plans
  • Conducts or acquires cost analysis for development projects; prepares or delegates preparation of the schedule of project completion dates
  • Provides technical direction and guidance for product development Component Teams
  • Ensures that projects are completed within budget and in an economical manner
  • Implements the strategic direction of Orange EV’s component and technology initiatives
  • Collaborates with CTO to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems
  • Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization's business plan and vision
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organization's industry
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering components principles and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • At least ten years of successfully managing an engineering team

Ideal Candidates Will Also Have

  • MBA or MS preferred
