SHIPPING CLERK

Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Denver branch located in Longmont, CO has an opening for Shipping Clerk.

Regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday 6am – 5pm (team will work staggered hours to cover entire shift) Overtime including working on weekends may be required.

The primary focus of this position is to provide courteous and professional assistance to customers picking up will call orders, which includes manual picking of orders from the manufacturing floor. Additionally, this position assists the Shipping Supervisor various daily activities.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Professionally assisting will call customers by accurately locating orders, informing them of Metal Sales loading, and answering any questions
• Assisting with picking of will call orders and properly filing active orders that are pending customer pick-up
• Communicating with Metal Sales’ Customer Service Reps on orders with problems or issues that cannot initially be resolved by the Shipping Clerk
• Assisting the Shipping Supervisor with Metal Sales truck delivery and contract carrier order sorting, organizing, filing, and routing
• Assisting Customer Service Reps with order changes and POD inquiries
• Maintaining necessary data and information to accurately produce reports as requested by management
• Assisting with other responsibilities and departments needs as warranted

The most qualified candidates will have:

• At least 1 year experience in a shipping/distribution environment; will call/order picking experience strongly preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Accurate data entry and proficient computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• A strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to effectively multi-task
• Effective and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written
• High School Diploma or equivalent
