Full Time & Variable Part Time Schedules Available

When you join Willamette View, you become a valuable part of a non-profit organization that holds a prominent position in the retirement and continuing care industry. At Willamette View, you'll have the chance to contribute to the ethos of "Inspiring the Art of Living Well" for our active resident community, playing a key role in helping individuals lead rich and fulfilling lives. If you appreciate the importance of personal relationships and making a meaningful impact on the lives of others, our unique and progressive senior community is the ideal place for you.

As the Cook at Willamette View, you will manage the day-to-day operational aspects of food production, working as a vital member of a dynamic production team. Your responsibilities include adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, as well as HACCP, sanitation, and food handling protocols, and other applicable guidelines and regulations throughout all areas of your role.

In this position, you will collaborate with a team to execute daily food production according to departmental quality standards. This involves building relationships with team members and supporting functional groups through effective feedback and communication, contributing to the enhanced quality of the Food and Beverage Department. Additionally, meeting attendance, maintaining proper personal appearance and hygiene standards, and following all departmental and established safety rules and procedures are crucial aspects of your responsibilities. You may also perform other duties as necessary and directed by the Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and the Food and Beverage Director.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prefer one-year experience in all phases of food production for a high-volume kitchen operation.
  • An associate degree in Culinary Arts or a combination of education and experience is prefered.
  • Must have a Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employement.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must have basic math skills.

At Willamette View, we believe in investing in our employees right from Day 1. When you join our team, you'll gain access to a comprehensive range of benefits designed to enhance your well-being. You'll be entering a culture of community where both employees and residents are deeply passionate and engaged as owners.

We are committed to providing equitable pay for all team members, and for this role, we estimate a reasonable hourly pay range of $17.68 USD to $20.83 USD per hour. The actual salary may vary based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievements, and business needs.

Here are some highlights of the benefits we offer:

  • Full benefits package, including Medical, Dental & Life Insurance, along with optional flexible spending accounts and a 401K retirement plan with a match.
  • Support for your well-being through access to our fitness center, educational opportunities and scholarships, wellness incentives, and a subsidized food program.
  • Enjoy your breaks in the refreshing environment of our 27-acre riverfront campus.
  • Take advantage of our generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan to rest and recuperate.
  • We actively recognize and reward excellence, creativity, and teamwork among our dedicated staff.

Willamette View believes in building a sense of community and inclusivity, both in the relationships we build with our residents and with our own team. We are committed to celebrating all dimensions of diversity in the workplace equally and ensuring that everyone feels a sense of inclusion and belonging. We are constantly listening, learning, and evolving to deliver on these principles. We are proud of our collaborative culture.
