Job Description
Job Title: Front Desk Agent

Reports to: Front Desk Manager/General Manager
Location: Ashland Springs Hotel

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to each and every guest.
  • Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check out guests at the end of their stay.
  • Answer phones and field calls.
  • Make reservations from the internet and by phone and keep records of assignments and other registration-related information on the computer using the property management system.
  • Answer guest questions about services, checkout times, the local community or other matters of public interest.
  • Deliver items to guests’ rooms.
  • Input data into the hotel’s property management system.
  • Stressful situations are common.
  • When guests check out, you will prepare and explain the charges and process payments.
  • Report problems with guest rooms and public facilities to members of housekeeping or maintenance staff.
  • Provide luggage service when needed.
  • Perform limited concierge duties when a guest has questions about area attractions.

Qualifications

  • Computer skills- Property management systems, Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Prior front desk/hospitality experience appreciated
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays depending upon occupancy and time of year
  • A professional appearance and good personal hygiene must be maintained at all times
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, confidence and can easily interact with strangers
  • An ability to handle oneself under pressure
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and be able to work independently and also as a member of a team.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 5-8 hours)
  • Knowledge of Southern Oregon and surrounding areas is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willing to perform other job-related tasks that may not be included in this job description
