As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for leading business analysis activities with a team, including DRS subject matter experts and internal technical teams to successfully elicit, document, analyze, and manage requirements throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects. You will support the CORE: Pension Administration Modernization (PAM) Project and will be responsible for ensuring that systems and processes are functioning as specified in the requirements. Duties

Some of what you'll do:
As part of the CORE: PAM project, you will support the agency in the execution phase of the project and collaborate with the project team to:

  • Continue to manage requirements throughout the project's life-cycle
  • Continue refinement of acceptance criteria
  • Ensure configuration and design meets the requirements
  • Creates test scripts and conducts system testing
  • Provide User Acceptance Testing support
  • Provide support with the implementation of the MOTS solution, as needed
  • Provide end user support once the new system is implemented
This position supports the organization's efforts to provide both high quality and innovative technology services and solutions. Work performed by this position helps provide the information, tools, expertise, and services that ensures our customers receive the retirement benefits they earn while in public service and contributes to improved services to employers, members, retirees, and DRS team members. These services support mission critical systems that account for billions of dollars in assets and payments.

NOTE: This is a hybrid position and you may be required to be in the office one day a week at the discretion of the Appointing Authority and with a telework agreement in place. The ability to work remotely is dependent on the nature of the tasks and projects assigned and the presence of a remote work environment that is safe and has an appropriate level of connectivity. You must be able to commute to the DRS building in Tumwater, WA, and must be willing to adjust your telework schedule to attend mandatory meetings, trainings, etc., at the DRS facility. What we're looking for (required qualifications):

  • Senior level experience using business analysis and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, documentation of business requirements, leadership techniques, problem-solving, and coordination of people and resources This experience is typically gained through a minimum of six (6) years of full-time professional experience (a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Information Technology, or an allied field may be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience);
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to articulate complex information in easily understandable terms and make presentations to senior management, executive management, and external parties; Experience applying the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)This experience is typically gained through a minimum of four (4) years of full-time professional experience);
  • Proven experience with Microsoft products specifically Excel, Vision, Word, and SharePoint

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Business Analysis certification administrated by the IIBA or equivalent certification; Business Process Management Notation;
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Formal training in, or experience implementing, LEAN Six Sigma or similar methods;
  • Experience in the Agile approach to software development;
  • Experience with WAC development; and
  • Experience developing training plans and materials.
