Special Education Teacher - Dumas, TX
ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Dumas, TX. As a contracted Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students who have a range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities, providing them with tailored instruction and support to help them achieve their academic and developmental goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure academic and social growth.
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional learning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other collaborative meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Special Education teaching license or certification in the state.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
