Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), or eligibility for certification.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Virginia.
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and student goals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the school curriculum.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with parents and caregivers regarding therapy plans and progress.
