Overview

The Career Training and Education Coach will provide time limited on-site support for HireAbility consumers in education and or training settings. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to start their career in human services! You'll gain exposure to the full scope of work that HireAbility does and will become familiar with local employers.

We pledge to treat all consumers and employers with respect, to listen to customer needs and provide timely, high quality services, and to provide a trusted ongoing resource to employers and consumers.


The Career Training and Education Coach will assist HireAbility counselors in preparing consumers to apply for competitive employment as directed by the VR counselor. More specifically, this may include:

  • Direct, one to one, support at job specific trainings,
  • Tutoring or coaching at workshops or classes
  • Providing hands on job training and job coaching in a work place in order to help the consumer become fully independent.
  • After the VR consumer has become stable on the job, providing periodic check-ins to ensure the consumer is sustaining the required level of performance for an agreed amount of time.

The work schedule of this position will vary based on the number of consumers served and their specific training needs. This is a long-term temporary/part-time position, which will be schedules for up to 24 hours of work per week. Availability to work occasional night/weekend hours may be required. Local travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months or more of work or volunteer experience in human services, customer service, or a related field requiring considerable personal interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
